The city will host one of the semifinals of CONMEBOL Copa América Brasil 2019, scheduled to start at the modern Arena do Grêmio, inaugurated in December 2012 and located in a region near Salgado Filho Airport.
RIO DE JANEIRO – Maracanã – FINAL
Completely renovated for the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Maracanã remains the largest stadium in Brazil, with approximately 78,000 seats, and will host for the second time a CONMEBOL Copa América Final – the first was in the 1989 edition.
SALVADOR – Arena Fonte Nova
Salvador was one of the headquarters of the last CONMEBOL Copa América held in Brazil in 1989 and hosted the decision of the third place in the FIFA Confederations Cup 2013. Its main stadium, the Fonte Nova Arena, was modernized for the FIFA World Cup 2014.
